Not Ready For Prime Time

While I'm sure he's a nice guy and all...I just can't help but think he's a little like a batter in the batters box swinging away at just about anything in order to prove he can hit home runs.

He may have value at some point in another 8-years, but Barack Hussein Obama is just not ready.

Obama's comments on Afghanistan

Asked whether he would move U.S. troops out of Iraq to better fight terrorism elsewhere, he brought up Afghanistan and said, "We've got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there."

Huh? Air-raiding villages? Who uses air raid sirens anymore? This represents a very clear example of how someone running for President saying silly things just to get some sort of applause line...is dangerous. How can he reasonably believe we are air-raiding villages?

Needless to say..."ENOUGH TROOPS"?...I thought there were too many last time. The surge was increasing troops when we should be drawing down. That's what the Democrats said.

I'm really starting to get confused by these pander-bears.

Just to see if we have, I did a Google news search...there have been some air raids of villages. In Uganda, in Georgia (the Russian one), and some kind of bombs in villages of India...only one reference to an "air raid" in Afghanistan blamed on Americans, but not much evidence it ever happened.

In all, only 39 referenced news stories with the words "air raid" and "villages" in them. I'm sure it would be a smaller number had I included "Afghanistan" in the search query, so I left it out just in case I was missing some.

The one story regarding an "air raid" in Afghanistan had only minor references to "enormous pressure over there" as Obama put it. It was from a villager...and quoted on a website called "Free Internet Press"...in a story dated about a week ago.

But while some of the victims and local people blame the Taliban for bringing violence to Helmand, hostility and bitterness toward the foreign forces remains.

“The Americans are killing and destroying a village just in pursuit of one person,” said Mahmadullah, 24, referring to Osama bin Laden. “So now we have understood that the Americans are a curse on us, and they are here just to destroy Afghanistan. They can tell the difference between men and women, children and animals, but they are just killing everyone.”

Which is exactly what Obama and many other Democrats want us to do. Drop everything in Iraq, and go after only one man...Osama.

So, in addition to wanting to meet with Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea unconditionally in his first year in office...

wanting to unilaterally send troops into Pakistan whether or not it was cool with the Pakistani government...

forbidding any use of nuclear weapons...

He now wants to increase troop levels and stop air-raiding civilians in Afghanistan.

Sorry. He's just not ready. Non-partisan opinion.
